Corey Willis is a Professor of Foundation Studies at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) since 2018. Previously served as Associate Chair of Foundations (2017–18) and Academic Director of Design at The Art Institute of California, San Diego (2012–16). Holds an M.F.A. in Fine Art from the Academy of Art University, an M.S. in Leadership in the Arts and Education from Parsons School of Design, and a B.A. in Psychology from Tufts University.
His professional experience includes designing academic programs for institutions like New Design High School in New York City (2003–11), where he created a four-year design curriculum under the DOE’s Small Schools Initiative. He has received notable recognition including the NYFA Photography Fellowship and residencies in Iceland and Skowhegan.
Leadership roles include managing over 100 design courses and 40+ faculty at The Art Institute, and training staff in curriculum design. His work bridges art education innovation with administrative leadership in both higher education and public schools.
