Corey Rayburn Yung is the William R. Scott Research Professor at the University of Kansas School of Law, where he has served full-time since 2012. He previously clerked for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and practiced law at Shearman & Sterling in New York. His academic career includes roles at John Marshall Law School and a fellowship at Harvard’s Radcliffe Institute. Yung holds a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Iowa.
His research focuses on criminal law, empirical legal studies, and sexual violence. Notable works include analyses of rape law gatekeeping, judicial behavior, and campus sexual assault. He has been cited by the U.S. Supreme Court and has contributed to policy debates on sex offender legislation and Title IX.
