Cora True-Frost is the Bond, Schoeneck and King Distinguished Professor and Laura J. & L. Douglas Meredith Professor of Teaching Excellence at Syracuse University's College of Law. She holds dual roles as a Professor of Law and Faculty Director of Impunity Watch News and several academic journals. Her research focuses on American constitutional law, disability law, international security law, and human rights, with recent work examining accessibility law before the European Court of Human Rights and conflicts in regional human rights frameworks.
Education: J.D./M.P.A. (magna cum laude, 2001) from Syracuse University; LL.M. (2006) from Harvard Law School; B.A. (1992) from Trinity University. She also completed an Erasmus Scholarship at the University of Bialystok School of Law.
Her professional experience includes roles as a Climenko Fellow at Harvard Law School, founder of the Women’s Justice Unit in East Timor, and legal consultant to the Special Court for Sierra Leone. She served on New York’s Developmental Disabilities Planning Council (2015–present) and was a Fulbright Research Scholar at the University of Oslo (2022–2023).
Awardees include the 2017 L. Douglas Meredith Teaching Excellence Award and 2018 LL.M. Class’s Lex Lucet Mundum Award. Her leadership extends to advising the Women’s Law Student Association (2013–2023) and teaching globally at institutions like Mackenzie Law School (São Paulo) and the Academy of European Law (Florence).
