Dr Conor Heaney is a Research Fellow at the University of Kent's Kent Law School, holding a Post-Doctoral Research Associate position within Dr Connal Parsley’s UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship Project on Human-AI Government Decision-Making. Previously, he lectured in Liberal Arts & Politics Education at King’s College London and Legal Theory/Law & Society at the University of Strathclyde. He holds a BA (Hons) in PPE from Queen’s University Belfast, a PGDL from BPP University, an MPhil in Philosophy from the University of Warwick, and a PhD in Social & Political Thought from the University of Kent.

Research Interests: His work spans legal/political theory, Continental philosophy, rhythmanalysis, technology/time philosophy, and experimental pedagogy. Key areas include the works of Stiegler, Deleuze, Guattari, and Lefebvre, with a focus on developing rhythmanalytical methodologies. His monograph Rhythm: New Trajectories in Law (2022) explores temporal dynamics in legal frameworks.
Collaborations: Co-founder of the Learning, Exchange, and Play (LEP) project with Dr Hollie Mackenzie and Ben Cook, producing academic works and short films (LEP I, II, and III). This project experiments with collaborative methods to reimagine social forms and knowledge production.
Grants/Projects: Current role in the UKRI-funded “Future of Good Decisions” project investigates human-AI integration in government administrative decision-making. His research bridges law, technology, and philosophy to address contemporary socio-political challenges.
Labs/Teams: Active in interdisciplinary collaborations, particularly through the LEP project and the UKRI initiative, emphasizing transdisciplinary approaches to legal and societal issues.
