Colleen Stevenson is a Professor of Psychology and Department Chair at Muskingum University, where she also serves as Program Coordinator of Child and Family Studies. Her research focuses on cognitive and language development in early childhood, scientific inquiry in young learners, and metacognition in adolescents and young adults. She teaches courses in developmental psychology, cognition, and advanced topics in psychology.
- Education: Ph.D. from Kent State University, M.S. and B.A. from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
Dr. Stevenson investigates how children acquire vocabulary and map new labels to objects, as well as strategies to improve study behaviors in older students. She collaborates with local community organizations to provide practicum and internship opportunities for Muskingum University students, integrating hands-on learning with academic research.
