Coline Garcia is a University Assistant (Prae-doc) at the Department of Geography and Regional Research, University of Vienna. She is affiliated with the Population Geography and Demography working group. Her research focuses on environmental migration, immobility, and climate change adaptation in developing regions.

Research Interests: Coline examines how environmental and climatic factors influence migration and immobility patterns, particularly in Eastern Ethiopia. Using mixed-methods research, she analyzes long-term migration data from the HDSS demographic monitoring system alongside fieldwork in the Kersa region. Her work bridges social science methodologies with real-world challenges in climate adaptation.
Professional Experience: Prior to her doctoral studies, she worked as an Information Management and Mobile Data Collection officer at CartONG, a technical NGO supporting humanitarian and development organizations.
Teaching & Engagement: Engaged in digital geography education and research didactics. Active on ORCID, ResearchGate, and Twitter. Office hours: Wednesdays 11–12 AM (email registration required).
