About
Colin Gleason is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Union College. He works with the GlueX Experiment at Jefferson Lab, focusing on the study of mesons and exotic hadron configurations.
- Current affiliation: Union College, Department of Physics and Astronomy
- Research focus: Particle Physics, Hadron Spectroscopy, Nuclear Physics
His research aims to understand how the strong interaction generates subatomic particles called hadrons, including hybrid mesons and exotic quark structures. Students in his group analyze GlueX datasets, learning particle physics calculations and data visualization techniques.
Colin earned a B.S. from Union College and a Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina. He is based in the Integrated Science and Engineering Complex (ISEC) 133 and can be contacted at gleasonc@union.edu.
He actively contributes to experimental particle physics through his work on the GlueX Experiment, which seeks to expand knowledge of the meson spectrum and quark-gluon dynamics.
