Claudia Schwertl

Claudia Schwertl is a Senior Scientist at the University of Salzburg's Department of General Educational Science and Social Pedagogy within the Faculty of Social Sciences. She holds a Master’s in Educational Science (2018-2021) and a Bachelor’s in Pedagogy (2015-2018), both from the University of Salzburg. Her doctoral studies began in 2021, focusing on early childhood education in 'Red Vienna.' She has organized the Theory Forum Salzburg since 2021 and previously worked as a kindergarten teacher (2013-2019), serving as principal and vice-principal in various institutions.

Her research explores 20th-century reform pedagogy, early childhood education frameworks, psychoanalysis in education, and socialist educational systems. She advises early childhood educators and contributes to academic discourse through collaborative initiatives like the Theory Forum Salzburg.
