Claudia Sackl is a Researcher (Wissenschaftliche Assistentin) at the University of Zurich's Institute for Social Anthropology and Empirical Cultural Studies (ISEK), working under Prof. Christine Lötscher. She holds a Master's in German Philology and Anglophone Literatures from the University of Vienna and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Popular Cultures with a focus on Afro-European narratives and Critical Race Narratology.

Her work examines how dystopian picturebooks, spoken word performances, and afrodiasporic literature intersect with anti-racist pedagogy and environmental justice. She explores the politics of diversity representation in Austrian youth media and the role of social media in shaping contemporary narratives.
Recent projects include coordinating Childhood Imag(inari)es (2022-2023), a cross-border study on innovative youth narrative strategies, and contributing to the kjl&m journal. She actively collaborates with organizations like the Society for Anglophone Postcolonial Studies (GAPS) and co-founded the Early-Career Forum for Youth Media (FKJM).
