Claudia Ritzi is Professor of Political Theory and History of Ideas at the University of Trier. She serves as deputy chair of the German Political Science Association (DVPW) and as Senate Commissioner for Protection against Sexual Harassment at Trier University since 2021. Since April 2023, she has been managing director of the Department of Political Science.
Research Focus: Contemporary democratic theory, post-democracy, digital public spheres, participation research, and 21st-century democratic governance. Her work examines the structural transformation of public spheres under digitalization, legitimacy in post-democratic systems, and the interplay between online/offline political participation.
