Ciro Najle is a Professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's School of Architecture. He holds a Master of Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University and a Diploma in Architecture from Universidad de Buenos Aires. Previously, he served as Dean and Research Professor at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella (on leave) and held visiting professorships at Harvard, Cornell, and the Architectural Association School of Architecture.
His research focuses on digital culture, ecological systems, and complexity theory in architecture. He directs GDB General Design Bureau, Campo Marzio arts center, and previously led MID Meta Infrastructural Domain. Najle authored The Generic Sublime (2016) and Suprarural (2017), and co-edited Landscape Urbanism (2004). His work explores material innovation and rural-urban dynamics.
Key awards include the Graham Foundation Grant (2013) for Suprarural and the Young Architect of the Year Second Prize (2001). He advises on architectural education and directs research labs like Machinic Lab for ecological prototyping. His current projects investigate globalization's impact on architectural practice and disciplinary transformations.
