Cindy Murrell

Cindy Murrell is a Teaching Professor in the English Department at New Mexico State University, promoted to College Professor rank in 2010. Holding an MA and BA in English Literature from NMSU, she has taught since 1988 with specializations in children's/young adult literature and science fiction/fantasy. Her pedagogy emphasizes critical thinking and writing skill development through structured discussions.

Murrell teaches courses including Literature for Children and Young Adults (ENGL 363), Literature of Science Fiction and Fantasy (ENGL 328V), and composition courses. She developed online delivery formats for literature courses and advocates for non-tenure track faculty representation, having served on Faculty Senate and College Promotion Committee.
