Christopher Tollefsen is a Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of South Carolina, where he also serves as Interim Executive Director of the Center for American Civic Leadership and Public Discourse. He earned his Ph.D. at Emory University in 1995 and has held visiting fellowships at Princeton University and Wake Forest University.
Research Interests: Tollefsen specializes in natural law philosophy, with a focus on foundational ethics, medical ethics, beginning and ending of life debates, and the ethics of lying and truth-telling. His current work includes a book on the ethics of killing and a new project titled "The Neglected Goods: Work, Play and Aesthetic Experience."
