Christopher Small

Christopher Small is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the University of Houston's Bauer College of Business. His research examines the role of information disclosure in capital markets, focusing on financial and non-financial disclosures' characteristics, determinants, and economic consequences. He applies natural language processing and machine learning techniques to analyze disclosures' effects on investment and asset prices. His work has been published in the Journal of Accounting and Economics.

Education: Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Iowa (2016), M.S. from Harvard Business School. Previously, he served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and co-editor of the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance. He is a reviewer for Contemporary Accounting Research, Management Science, and the European Accounting Review.

Prior to academia, he worked as a manager at Deloitte. His expertise spans financial accounting, taxation, and corporate governance.
