Emre Kilic

Dr. Emre Kilic is an Associate Professor at the C. T. Bauer College of Business, University of Houston, since 2005. He earned his Ph.D. in Accounting from Syracuse University and holds a B.A. in Economics from Koç University, Istanbul, Turkey.

His research focuses on:

• Information content and value-relevance of risk disclosures
• Value-relevance of recognized versus disclosed accounting information
• Implications of derivative accounting for security prices, returns and cost of capital
• Bank accounting and regulation
• Income Smoothing by banks

Dr. Kilic's publications analyze SFAS 133 impacts on banking practices, derivative accounting relevance, and implicit taxation in financial sectors. His work appears in top journals like The Accounting Review and Journal of the American Taxation Association.
