Christopher Romano is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture at the University at Buffalo’s School of Architecture and Planning. He is a licensed architect in New York State, NCARB Certified, and LEED certified. His research and teaching focus on the intersection of design, construction, and contemporary building culture, emphasizing regional materials and manufacturing processes. He leads Studio NORTH, an independent research office prioritizing inventive construction methods.
Education: M. Arch in Architectural Theory and Design from the University at Buffalo.
Research interests include material experimentation, digital fabrication, and community-driven projects. His work bridges academic practice with grassroots initiatives, such as the Lois Gibbs Fellowship collaboration with activists and politicians to enhance environmental and health outcomes in Western New York.
