About
Christopher Pascoe, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physiology & Pathophysiology at the University of Manitoba’s Max Rady College of Medicine and a principal investigator at the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba (CHRIM). His research investigates chronic respiratory diseases like asthma and COPD, focusing on genetic/environmental risk factors and prevention strategies.
- Education: PhD in Experimental Medicine (University of British Columbia, 2015); BSc in Biology (University of the Fraser Valley, 2010).
Research areas: Regulation of lung cellular physiology by lipid mediators (oxylipins), environmental influences (cigarette smoke, maternal diabetes, wildfire smoke) on lung health, and developmental origins of chronic respiratory disease. His lab employs animal/cell models and human clinical samples to analyze transcriptomes, lipidomes, and proteomes.
- Awards: Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship, Ken Hughes Young Investigator Award, Stuart J. Hirst Award, and Coronation Medal (2025).
The Pascoe Lab recruits undergraduate students and collaborates with networks like the Canadian Respiratory Research Network. His work bridges molecular mechanisms and translational approaches to address critical respiratory health burdens.
