Christopher Paling

Christopher Paling is a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Management within the Department of Natural Sciences at Manchester Metropolitan University. He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses, serves as Course Lead for the MSc Environmental Sustainability, and supervises PhD research focused on airport carbon management and adaptation.

• Research focus: Carbon management in global airports, EU-funded projects (TULIPS, STRATEGIES), and societal/environmental impact assessments.
• Leadership roles: Chair of Sustainable Aviation’s Advisory Board, Member of Airport Carbon Accreditation’s Advisory Board, and ACI Global Training course instructor.
• Awards:

His work bridges academic research with industry practice through collaborations with Airports Council International and participation in Horizon Europe projects.
