Christopher Hanlon is a Lecturer in Fine Art Painting at Ulster University's Belfast School of Art. He has been a visiting lecturer at the institution from 2012 to 2018 before becoming a full lecturer.

His research focuses on the transformative potential of painting to disrupt normative visual perception through speculative thought and recontextualization of found imagery. His practice explores the tension between Fine Art and broader cultural categorizations, both formally and conceptually.
Christopher has exhibited extensively across Europe and the USA, with five solo exhibitions at Domobaal Gallery in London. His 2016 inclusion in the John Moores Painting Prize exhibition at Liverpool's Walker Museum marks a significant career achievement.
