Christopher H Cleveland

Dr. Christopher H Cleveland is an Assistant Professor of Education and Education Policy at Brown University, with a joint appointment in the Education Department and Annenberg Institute. His research focuses on quantitative policy analysis in areas such as school finance, gifted and special education, and human capital. He previously held roles as a Research Assistant Professor at Boston University and a Consulting Manager at Education Resource Strategies.

Dr. Cleveland holds a Ph.D. in Education Policy and Program Evaluation from Harvard University, an Ed.M. in Education Policy and Management, and an A.B. in Sociology with a secondary in Mind, Brain, & Behavior. His work emphasizes data-driven approaches, including collaborations with the Oregon Department of Education and the U.S. Census Bureau to analyze family-background impacts on education and transition-to-adulthood outcomes.

Key research interests include understanding IEP implementation at scale, evaluating teacher-student demographic matching effects, and examining historical redlining's impact on modern school systems.
