Christopher Desimone

Christopher Desimone, MD is a Professor and Associate Chief Medical Officer for Peri-operative Services at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He directs the Robotic-assisted Surgery Program at UK HealthCare.

Research Focus centers on ovarian cancer, particularly genetic associations between hypodontia (congenitally missing teeth) and epithelial ovarian cancer via an NCI-funded collaboration with the Department of Dentistry. He participates in national clinical trials evaluating chemotherapy treatments for ovarian cancer.

Recent publications highlight expertise in ovarian cancer screening, transvaginal sonography, and health disparities in Appalachia. His work spans diagnostic ultrasonography, postoperative care analysis, and symptom-based surveillance strategies.
