Christopher Cox

Christopher Cox is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader for Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology) at the University of Sunderland. He transitioned to academia in 2015 after working as a Cardiac Physiologist specializing in echocardiography and cardiac rhythm management in North East hospitals. He maintains an honorary NHS contract, continuing clinical work alongside teaching. His research focuses on diagnostic tests such as ECG interpretation, exercise testing, ambulatory monitoring, and the ethical implications of cardiac implantable devices. He supervises clinical placements in diagnostic cardiology departments and teaches across healthcare science programs.
