Christopher Chapple

Christopher Chapple is an Honorary Professor of Urology at the University of Sheffield and Visiting Professor at Sheffield Hallam University. He is an Emeritus Consultant Urological Surgeon at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, with over three decades of clinical and academic leadership. His roles include former Secretary General of the European Association of Urology (2015–2023), Network Coordinator for ERN eUROGEN (2016–2019), and Editor-in-Chief of Neurourology & Urodynamics (2006–2016).

Education: Trained at the Middlesex Hospital (doctorate thesis) and sub-specialist training at the Institute of Urology, London.

• Pharmacological control mechanisms in urology
• Tissue engineering applications in urological surgery
• Clinical guidelines for overactive bladder and underactive bladder syndromes
