Christopher Belser

Dr. Christopher Belser serves as an Associate Professor in the Counselor Education Program within the School of Education at the University of New Orleans. He holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education & Supervision from the University of Central Florida and an M.Ed. in School Counseling from Louisiana State University, with prior professional experience as a middle school counselor and high school career coach in Louisiana public and charter schools.

Dr. Belser's research centers on career development initiatives spanning Pre-K through 16 education, emphasizing STEM fields and ecological sustainability. His work addresses school counselor preparation, interdisciplinary career development across the lifespan, and on-campus eco-wellness programs featuring Louisiana native plants, aiming to bridge educational theory with practical career interventions for student success.

Dr. Belser serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Child & Adolescent Counseling and advises the Alpha Eta Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota. He was Co-Investigator on the National Science Foundation-funded UCF COMPASS Program for STEM undergraduate retention and maintains leadership roles in national, regional, and state counseling organizations, with dozens of conference presentations worldwide.
