Christophe Andre

Christophe Andre serves as a Lecturer in Private Law at the Faculty of Law and Political Science of the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ), where he has taught since 2016 following prior appointments at Paris XIII (2003-2016) and Sciences-Po Paris (2004-2017). His expertise spans criminal law theory, procedure, and judicial preparation.

His academic credentials include:

• DEA in Private Law (1993-1994, University of Paris I)

Andre's research emphasizes Criminal Law with specialized focus on Special Criminal Law, Restorative Justice, and Compliance. He investigates intersections between criminal procedure and human rights, particularly emerging rights (water, environment, education), while analyzing alternatives to traditional criminal proceedings through comparative frameworks. His scholarship bridges theoretical legal analysis with practical judicial training methodologies.

Recent publications (2021-2024) demonstrate interdisciplinary evolution toward sociology of law and political theory, examining sovereignty in compliance systems and restorative approaches to punishment. Earlier works (2001-2016) established foundations in contract theory, euthanasia law, and asbestos compensation.
