Christoph Gilles is an Associate Professor at the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon (ENS Lyon), affiliated with the Language Center. His academic journey includes a doctorate from Université Lumière Lyon 2 on British neoliberal intellectual history. He has held roles such as Associate Professor at Université Lille 1 (2008–2011) and Reader at Kingston University (2006–2008).
