Christine Shaw is an Associate Professor of Curatorial and Visual Studies at the University of Toronto Mississauga and Director/Curator of the Blackwood Gallery. She holds affiliations as a Research Affiliate & Visiting Scholar in MIT’s Art, Culture, Technology program. Her work bridges curatorial practice, education, and socio-technical inquiry.
Educations: MFA in Visual Art from Western University; PhD in Social and Political Thought from York University.
Research focuses on transdisciplinary collaboration, environmental legacies of colonialism, and climate justice. Notable projects include:
- Take Care (2016–2018): Explored care labor and mutual aid systems
- Running with Concepts (2015–2018): Gallery as collaborative learning space
- The Work of Wind (2018–2022): Interdisciplinary exploration of climate ecologies
