Christine Letcher is an Assistant Professor of Music and Music Advisor at the University of Maine at Augusta. She teaches Piano, Voice, Music Theory, and Music History. Certified as an Estill Master Trainer, she directs UMA’s Vintage Steel community steel drum ensemble and serves as Music Director of CODA Chorus in Winthrop, Maine.

Her research explores how political environments, such as post-9/11 policies, influence composers’ creative processes, comparing them to historical periods like the New Deal era. She previously taught at Westminster Conservatory in New Jersey and served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco (2000–2002).
As a performer, she has appeared as a solo pianist, accompanist, and soprano with ensembles including St. Mary Schola, Oratorio Chorale, and Puma Jazz Quartet. She has been a member of St. Mary Schola since 2008 and contributed to multiple chorales in Maine.
