Christian Stock is Senior Professor of Practice in Glass at Tulane University's School of Liberal Arts, Department of Art. Originally from Bristol, England, he teaches glass art techniques and mentors students in sculpture and material studies.
Professor Stock holds an MFA in Glass from Tulane University and a BA in Design from Staffordshire University. His artistic practice explores:
- Structural forms and mechanical systems
- Architectural and organic frameworks
- Material interactions between glass, steel, and concrete
- Kinetic sculpture and suspension principles
- Historical contraption design
He has taught sculpture at Loyola University and glass casting at YAYA Arts Center in New Orleans. Professor Stock received the Eleanor B. Kohlmeyer Award for excellence in graduate studio art during his studies at Tulane.
His courses include Foundations of Art: Glass and Advanced Glass, where students explore material properties and structural possibilities of glass through hands-on projects.
