Christian Peters

Dr. Christian Peters is an Associate Professor of Church History at the University of Münster, leading the Institute for Westphalian Church History and the Münster Research Centre for Pietism. His scholarly contributions focus on the evolution of Reformation-era theology, Pietist movements, and territorial church governance from the 16th to 18th centuries.

Peters' research spans 21st-century church historiography, confessional text analysis, and regional Protestant developments. His recent publications explore Westphalian church orders, Reformation jubilees, and early modern liturgical materials, with a particular emphasis on Lutheran and Reformed interplay and territorial identity formation.
