Christa Kieffer

Christa Kieffer, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of History at Cottey College. She holds a B.A. from the University of Tennessee at Martin (2017) and a Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky (2024). Her research focuses on twentieth-century U.S. history, particularly the intersection of race and modern conservatism. Her current book project examines the role of race in the construction of modern conservatism through the lens of A. B. 'Happy' Chandler's career.

Dr. Kieffer teaches courses on the civil rights movement, modern U.S. political history, American sports history, American women's history, and equality movements in the U.S. Her work bridges political, social, and cultural dimensions of race in American history.
