Christa Haverly is a Research Assistant Professor in the Learning Sciences Department at Northwestern University's School of Education and Social Policy (SESP). She holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum, Instruction, and Teacher Education from Michigan State University (2019), an M.S. from Nova Southeastern University (2008), and a B.A. in Elementary Education from Boston College (2002). Her research focuses on teacher education, elementary science instruction, equity, curriculum design, and school system structures.
Dr. Haverly’s work emphasizes how elementary teachers can create equitable science learning environments and how school systems support instructional improvements. Her recent studies explore leadership roles in advancing science education at state, district, and school levels. She has published extensively on topics such as science curriculum adoption processes, teacher readiness, and equity-focused pedagogy.
