Dr. Chrissy Martin is an Assistant Professor of English at Centenary College of Louisiana. She holds a Ph.D. in poetry from Oklahoma State University (2022), an MFA in Poetry from Columbia College Chicago (2017), and a B.A. in English from The University of Akron (2015). Her research interests include Poetry Writing, Disability Studies, Mad Studies, Pop Culture Poetics, Ekphrastic Poetry, and the Poetics of the Body. She serves as Poetry Editor and founding editor of Arcturus, and her work appears in journals like Harpur Palate and Cherry Tree.
Dr. Martin is actively involved in campus initiatives such as Pandora Magazine and the Convocations Committee, fostering creative and intellectual engagement. Her poetry often explores themes of embodiment, medical narratives, and cultural critique, as seen in her published works like Kaleidoscopic (2023) and When Mary... (2023).
