Chris Washburne

Chris Washburne is a Professor of Music and Chair of the Department of Music at Columbia University, leading the Louis Armstrong Jazz Performance Program. His research focuses on ethnomusicology, Latin jazz, and salsa, with notable publications including Latin Jazz: The Other Jazz (2020) and Sounding Salsa (2008).
