Chris Skidmore

Professor Chris Skidmore OBE MP is a Professor of Practice at the University of Bath, focusing on Net Zero Policy. He previously served as a UK Minister for Universities, Science, Research, and Innovation, played a key role in legislating the UK’s Net Zero targets, and authored the landmark 'Mission Zero' review. He chairs the Environment All-Party Parliamentary Group and leads the Mission Zero Coalition, fostering collaboration across sectors to advance climate goals.

Education:

• Bachelor's and Doctorate in Modern British History from the University of Oxford

Research Interests: Sustainability, climate policy implementation, decarbonization strategies, infrastructure for net zero, governance frameworks for environmental transition, and the socio-economic impacts of energy systems.

Awards & Recognition:

• OBE (2022) for parliamentary and public service
• Fellowships with the Royal Society of Arts, Royal Historical Society, and Society of Antiquaries of London
