Chris Gilbertson

Chris Gilbertson, PE, serves as Associate Director of the Center for Technology & Training and holds a Staff position in the Civil and Environmental Engineering department at Michigan Technological University. He is an Adjunct Associate Professor in Civil, Environmental, and Geospatial Engineering. His research focuses on bridge design, load rating, asset management, and pre-college STEM outreach. He actively participates in TRAC and NSTI programs to engage K-12 students in transportation and civil engineering careers.

Dr. Gilbertson has expertise in instructional material development for diverse audiences, including practitioners and pre-college students. His work bridges technical expertise with educational outreach, emphasizing hands-on engagement in STEM fields.
