Chris Craun is an Assistant Professor in the Department of History at the University of Central Arkansas's College of Liberal Arts. He serves as the Academic Coordinator for the STEM Learning Community in State Hall.
Dr. Craun earned his Ph.D. from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. His research focuses on early medieval history, particularly examining early Christian traditions, martyrologies, hagiography, and ascetic practices.
He explores the construction and use of gender in sacred texts, the cult of the saints, biblical motifs in architecture and medieval literature, and Carolingian ecclesiastical literature. His teaching includes World History, Ancient History courses, and introductory historical research methodologies.
