Chris Corneal

Chris Corneal is an Associate Professor of Graphic Design at Michigan State University, affiliated with the Department of Art, Art History, and Design within the College of Arts and Letters. He serves as Faculty Advisor for the Design Center and Director of Graphic Design Internships. Prof. Corneal holds a BFA from Western Kentucky University and an MFA from the University of Memphis.

His creative work spans freelance design, non-profit collaborations, and academic research. His designs have been featured in publications like Graphis, Logo Lounge, and HOW International Design Annual, alongside exhibitions such as I Profess: The Graphic Design Manifesto and United Designs International Designs Alliance Exhibition. He has presented at conferences including the College Art Association and UCDA Annual Design Exhibition.

Prof. Corneal emphasizes design as a tool for activism, entrepreneurship, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Student projects under his guidance have been recognized in Print Magazine, How Magazine, and Presenting Shakespeare. His professional practice bridges academic teaching, community engagement, and commercial design.
