Chris Cavera

Chris Cavera is an Associate Teaching Professor at Bowling Green State University (BGSU), affiliated with the School of Media & Communication within the College of Arts & Sciences. His expertise spans music technology, audio/video production, and media arts. He holds a B.A. in Music Theory and Composition from Ball State University (1998) and an M.A. in Composition from BGSU (2003).

Prior to his current role, Cavera led the music technology program and managed Terra Recording Studio at Terra State Community College (2003–2016). He also reviews musical gear and writes for Bass Gear Magazine, focusing on bass instrument technology and professional equipment evaluations.

At BGSU, he teaches courses such as Audio Production, Live Event Media Production, and Video Basics. His instructional focus includes audio engineering, media production techniques, and live performance technologies. Cavera’s career bridges academic instruction, industry collaboration, and technical journalism.
