Professor Chris Armstrong is a Professor of Political Theory at the University of Southampton, specializing in global justice and environmental politics. His research focuses on biodiversity, ocean justice, climate justice, and natural resources governance. He has held prestigious fellowships from the British Academy and Leverhulme Trust, and is a recipient of the Lynton Caldwell Award 2023. He supervises PhD students and collaborates with interdisciplinary research groups such as the Southampton Marine and Maritime Institute.
Education: B.A. from the University of Durham, advanced degrees from the University of Bristol and the London School of Economics. He has held visiting fellowships at Oxford, Uppsala, and other global institutions.
