Chris Anderson

Chris Anderson serves as Lecturer of Music at the Conservatory of Music, Purchase College, State University of New York, teaching studio composition and production master classes since 2014. He maintains an active dual career as a performing musician and educator, touring internationally while contributing to the academic mission of the conservatory.

Anderson's professional work bridges performance and pedagogy, specializing in jazz and contemporary popular music. As an electric and upright bassist, he has accumulated over 50 album credits across television, radio, and studio recordings. His creative output includes co-founding the alt-country act Whiskey Heart with Rebecca Haviland, producing self-released albums recorded at prestigious NYC studios. His educational philosophy emphasizes real-world performance preparation, reflected in his decade-long tenure at Lagond School of Music alongside his Purchase College appointment.
