Chloë Brown is a Senior Lecturer in Fine Art at Sheffield Hallam University's Department of Art and Design, affiliated with the Art Design and Media Research Centre and Culture and Creativity Research Institute. She holds an MA in Sculpture from Chelsea College of Art (1994) and a BA in Fine Art from the University of Reading (1987). Her practice spans film, sculpture, and participatory projects exploring post-industrial cities (e.g., Stoke-on-Trent, Detroit, Sheffield) through 'Soft Rebellions'—public art interventions addressing urban decline and community resilience. Notable works include A Soft Rebellion in Paradise (2018) and collaborations with global institutions like the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD).
Research interests include post-industrial landscapes, human-animal dynamics, and artist publications.
