Chih-Chia Su

Chih-Chia (Jack) Su, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at Case Western Reserve University's School of Medicine. He holds a PhD in Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology from Iowa State University, where he studied bacterial multidrug efflux systems. His postdoctoral work focused on bacterial multidrug resistance, leading to publications in high-impact journals like Nature and PNAS. He developed the 'Build and Retrieve' (BaR) methodology for cryo-EM analysis of membrane proteins. His current research explores outer membrane asymmetry in Gram-negative bacteria and host-pathogen interactions using structural biology and cryo-EM techniques. Dr. Su's work bridges structural insights with functional mechanisms, advancing understanding of bacterial drug resistance and membrane biology.
