Chieffo Alaide

Chieffo Alaide is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, specializing in cardiovascular diseases with particular expertise in interventional cardiology and structural heart disease. She serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine and is actively involved in teaching cardiovascular diseases courses for the Master's Degree in Medicine and Surgery program.

Her research interests focus on interventional cardiology, particularly transcatheter valve interventions, left main coronary interventions, structural heart disease, and women in cardiovascular medicine. She has developed specialized expertise in complex coronary interventions, TAVR procedures, and the implementation of hub-and-spoke networks for cardiovascular care delivery.

Her recent publications reveal a strong trend toward clinical outcomes research in structural heart disease interventions, with particular emphasis on TAVR, mitral valve interventions, left main bifurcation lesions, and gender-specific cardiovascular care. She participates in doctoral committees at Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II for Cardiovascular Pathophysiology and Therapeutics programs. Her research is supported by multiple grants including those from the Italian Ministry of Health and European Commission initiatives.

She leads the Interventional Cardiology Unit at the IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital, where she has developed the OSR Hub-Spoke model for TAVR procedures.
