Michael Cleman

Michael Cleman, MD is a Professor of Medicine specializing in Cardiovascular Medicine at Yale School of Medicine. He completed his medical training at Johns Hopkins University, residency at University of Florida, and cardiology fellowship at Yale. His clinical focus includes interventional management of structural heart diseases such as atrial septal defects, valvular disease, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). He has pioneered the use of coronary stents, rotational atherectomy, and intravascular ultrasound technologies. Dr. Cleman holds leadership roles in the Structural Heart Disease Program and Yale Medicine.

Research focuses on structural heart interventions and TAVR outcomes with over 20 peer-reviewed publications. His work examines sex-based outcomes in TAVR procedures and post-procedural conduction disturbances. Clinically active in TAVR, mitral valve clip placements, and diagnostic cardiology.
