Chiara Capulli is a Research Fellow affiliated with the Lise Meitner Group at the Bibliotheca Hertziana – MPI and an associate researcher in the Department Wolf and Digital Humanities (DH) Lab at the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florence. She holds a PhD in History of Art from the University of Cambridge (2024), supported by the AHRC Lander Scholarship and a Bibliotheca Hertziana fellowship. Her research focuses on the impact of disasters on cultural heritage, digital art history, and religious patronage in Renaissance Italy. She has trained students and professionals in digital methodologies at institutions including Cambridge, Exeter, and the University of Düsseldorf. Key projects include the Getty-funded 'Florence 4D' initiative and the 'L'Aquila 1703' platform, exploring seismic events' effects on urban and artistic heritage. She also contributed to the AC(H)E project analyzing earthquake damage in L'Aquila. Capulli’s work bridges historical research with modern digital tools, addressing heritage preservation and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Recent work on L'Aquila’s 1703 earthquake integrates archival records and digital mapping to trace cultural memory shifts.
