Cheryl Dungan Cunningham

Cheryl Dungan Cunningham serves as an Affiliate Artist in the School of Music at Cairn University, teaching Applied Harp since 2005. She holds performance positions as Principal Harpist with the New Jersey Capital Philharmonic and Southeastern Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra.

Her educational credentials include:

• Master of Music in Harp from Indiana University
• Bachelor of Music in Harp from Indiana University
• Bachelor of Music Education from Indiana University

Specializing in harp performance and pedagogy, Cunningham maintains an active chamber music career as founding member of the Southampton Chamber Music Society resident ensemble, performer with Les Meslange des Plaisirs, The Fine Companions duo, and Voix seraphique. Her professional focus bridges performance practice and music education through private studio instruction and scholarly contributions.

Leadership roles include current President of the American Harp Society, Inc. and Philadelphia Chapter Treasurer, with past service as Chairman of the Board (2014-2016) and First Vice President (2006-2010). She authored articles for The Harp Column Magazine and contributed to the American String Teacher's Association publication "A Harp in the School: A Guide for School Ensemble Directors".
