Dr. Cheryl Cline is an Associate Professor and Director of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Queen's University, holding cross-appointments in Philosophy. She leads the Office of Bioethics and serves as Ethics Lead for the Undergraduate Medicine Program. Her interdisciplinary work bridges philosophy and healthcare ethics.
Education: BAH (University of Toronto), MA (University of Toronto), PhD (University of Toronto), and an ongoing MSc at the University of Edinburgh. She has extensive clinical ethics experience, including 7 years as a clinical ethicist at Kingston General Hospital.
Research focuses on Bioethics, Political Philosophy, and Environmental Ethics. She teaches courses such as The History and Philosophy of Health and Healthcare and Health Ethics, Law, and Policy. Her teaching excellence has been recognized through awards including the Martha Lile Love Teaching Award (1999) and Marija Hutchison Teaching Award (1993).
Prior roles include curriculum leadership in Queen’s Undergraduate Medicine Program and teaching at the University of Toronto, where she directed the Teaching Assistant Training Program.
