Chellan Hoffman

Chellan Hoffman, CRCCO, BEd, BMus, MMus, is an Organ Faculty and sessional lecturer at the University of Calgary. With over 30 years of experience, she serves as music director at Knox United Church in Calgary, directing the Knox Choir and Knox Random Ringers. She has held roles including assistant organist at Christ Church Elbow Park and assistant music director at Grace Presbyterian Church. Her freelance work spans community theatre, schools, choirs, and ensembles like the Calgary Philharmonic Chorus and Luminous Voices.

Chellan volunteers as Calgary Centre President, national Vice President, and Editorial Committee Chair for the Royal Canadian College of Organists (RCCO), overseeing publication of Organ Canada. She advocates for pipe organs through public engagement initiatives with her husband Steve Miller, organ technician, and collaborates on projects like walking tours, recitals, and silent movie events. Her work emphasizes community-building through artistic innovation and interfaith musical partnerships.

As an educator, she teaches organ at Mount Royal Conservatory and contributes to the University of Calgary’s music programs part-time.
