Charlotte Maile

Dr. Charlotte Maile is a Lecturer in Veterinary Clinical Sciences at the University of Surrey's School of Veterinary Medicine. She serves as the BVMSci Year 1 Lead and Head of the Clinical and Behavioural Sciences Section. Her expertise includes equine muscle disorders, metabolism, and exertional myopathies.

Education: BVetMed from The Royal Veterinary College (RVC), London, followed by a PhD on the pathophysiology of Type 1 Polysaccharide Storage Myopathy. She holds a Morris Animal Foundation Early Researcher Fellowship.

Research focuses on equine metabolic and genetic disorders, with publications in FASEB J, Biochim Biophys Acta, and Equine Vet J. Her work bridges clinical practice and molecular mechanisms.
